Youth Parliament - STAGE I (Uttar Pradesh)

NBRI-EIACP Lucknow in collaboration with IWSLU-EIACP conducted Youth Parliament- Stage 1 (Uttar Pradesh) on May 17, 2023 at CSIR-NBRI Lucknow. The topic of the debate competition was “Individual behavior & habits have an impact on environment and climate change” and around 91 students from different schools, colleges, and universities belonging to 22 districts of Uttar Pradesh, participated in the event which was conducted in both online/offline (hybrid) mode.


Prof. Pramod  Tandon (Padma Shri, Former Vice-Chancellor, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong & CEO, Biotech Park, Lucknow) was the Chief Guest of the inaugural function and the selection committee for screening the participants had the following members: Prof. Pramod  Tandon (Former Vice-Chancellor, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong & CEO, Biotech Park, Lucknow), as a Chairman of the committee, Dr. Ashtosh K. Shukla (Principal Scientist, CSIR-CIMAP Lucknow) as a member, Prof. Amita Kanaujia (Coordinator IWS-LU- EIACP and Professor  University of Lucknow) as a member, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Srivastava (Coordinator  NBRI-EIACP, Senior Principal Scientist CSIR-NBRI) and Dr. Anju Patel (Co-coordinator NBRI-EIACP, Scientist SCIR-NBRI) as a member.

A total of 91 participants attended the Debate competition and 45 were present offline in the auditorium of CSIR-NBRI and 46 participants attended online. Participants belong to 20 different districts of Uttar Pradesh.
