CSIR National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) organized two-day annual Chrysanthemum and Coleus show at 13 Dec to 14 Dec. The varieties which were on display had been chosen from the NBRI collection, government and semi-government institutes, farmers and individuals. This flower show was of intercontinental standard, presenting R&D work on ornamental horticulture for promoting interest among the garden lovers, progressive farmers, expert and common public towards the cultivation of ornamental plants. The judges picked up the winners after testing them on parameters like size of the flower, compactness and ability to be fresh for a longer duration. The winners were chosen on Saturday while the trophies and shields were given on Sunday. About 23 running challenge cup, shields and trophies and over 300 other prizes were given to the winners. The chief guest of the occasion was agriculture production commissioner Alok Ranjan. Principal Secretary agriculture JN Chamber was the guest of honour.
