ENVIS-NBRI celebrated “World Environment Day on 5th June 2018”

ENVIS-NBRI celebrated ‘World Environment day’ on 5th June 2018. Each World Environment Day is organized around a theme that focuses to the environmental concern. The theme for 2018 was Beat Plastic Pollution, is a call to action for all of us to come together to combat for one of the great environmental challenge now a days.
Dr. R.S.Katiyar (Acting Director, CSIR-NBRI) welcomed the Chief Guest Padamshree Prof. Anil Kumar Joshi, the founder of Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organization (HESCO), Dehradoon. Prof. Joshi emphasised on the different aspects of air, water and soil pollution. Prof. Joshi narrated about Green Economy and its role in India.
Dr. Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, Coordinator ENVIS-NBRI demonstrated the educational displays related to different aspects of plants and pollution to the Chief Guest. ENVIS-NBRI team actively participated for explaining the displays and distribution of ENVIS-Newsletters to the visitors and students.
