Celebration of World Soil Day: 2021 (5th December, 2021)
ENVIS-RP-NBRI team visited at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pipersand, Lucknow to celebrate World Soil Day-2021 with students on December 05, 2021. A total of 45 students were registered for the event. The event was registered at Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)main website (www.fao.org).
Mr. Vinay Kumar Bajpai, Principal welcomed team ENVIS-RP-NBRI. Science students of class 11th and teachers of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya were the part of the event.
Dr. Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, Coordinator, ENVIS-RP-NBRI delivered a lecture in form of power point presentation about the formation of soil, soil horizons, soil productivity, properties of sodic and saline of the soil, do’s and don’ts to prevent soil from pollution, physical, chemical and biological properties of soil etc.
Dr. Vivek Srivastava, Senior Principal Scientist and Nodal Officer, CSIR-Jigayasa, Lucknow has also sensitised students through a video film on the occasion.
Mr. Sunil Tripathi, Sr. Programme Officer (ENVIS) talked about different activities, publications, major goals and achievements of ENVIS-RP-NBRI. He has also distributed ENVIS Newsletters on the topic “Soil Conservation” and “Soil Erosion-A Major Concern” to all the participants.
